The »Institute for Sessile Studies« approaches the dialectic relationship between production and reproduction (Marx) by means of »Critical Sessology« and publishes the »Encyclopædia on Specialised Sitting«.
Under examination is a society that is besessen (German for being sitted on as well as obsessed) and rotates day after day between working aparatus and leisure gadgets - hecticly playing musical chairs between seated machines that either generate an income, need to be rented or do both at the same time. With this focus the institute is tracing the increasing dissolution of borders between wage labour and leisure activities from the perspective of sitting.
The research Unit at Reileck continues the institute's visual analysis and taxonomic classification of regional sitting practices while publishing the »Encyclopædia on Specialised Sitting«. The following editions are available at the institutes website:
